In addition to the beautifully designed guest rooms, the ground floor features a reception and kitchen, a bright breakfast room, a veranda, and a cozy lounge with small boutique corners. Upstairs, you’ll find a spacious and serene library. The shared areas of the house are available to all guests, and you can prepare your breakfast in our modern, well-equipped kitchen.
Basking in the sunlight, the garden invites you to enjoy a leisurely al fresco breakfast, immerse yourself in a book under the apple trees, or spend a summer day in delightful company.

Iida is a bright and inviting ground-floor room, decorated in soft cinnamon and crisp white tones. Its spacious layout comfortably accommodates a family of up to five, with one child (0–4 years) sharing the family bed.
At the heart of the room is Matri’s luxurious Aurea Continental bed, featuring a plush, white linen-upholstered headboard—perfect for unwinding after an active day. Additionally, a cozy corner sofa can be converted into a bed for two guests.

With a compact yet well-equipped kitchen, this elegant room is also ideal for longer stays. When connected via an adjoining door to the Selma room, Edla transforms into a charming holiday apartment for a larger group or family.
The room features a dining area for four, and the kitchen is stocked with everything needed to prepare a light lunch, dinner, or summer picnic treats. This versatile room adapts to your needs—its high-quality Kaino beds can be combined into a comfortable double bed, and it can also be connected via an adjoining door to the neighboring Edla room, forming a spacious suite.

Arriving at Matri House
Matri House is located in the heart of the Mathildedal ironworks village, less than 30 kilometers from Salo. By car, the drive takes approximately 1.5 hours from Helsinki, less than an hour from Turku, and a little over two hours from Tampere. Guests arriving by car can use one of the six free parking spaces in the Matri House courtyard.
Traveling by train or bus to Salo is easy, with local buses providing convenient connections to Mathildedal. For those arriving by boat, the Mathildedal guest harbor offers excellent services and has been recognized for its quality.
Check-in to the rooms is self-service with a key code, which is sent to guests on the day of arrival.
